The Juilliard School of Drama, NYC

Together with a young lynx
and a swarm of locusts, their journeys become transmissions of hope and loss against the backdrop of planetary collapse. Transmissions is written by Jessica Huang and stars the incredible actors of the 4th year acting company.

Marisol

Theatre Coup D’Etat, Minneapolis MN

Winner of the 1993 Obie Award, Marisol is an apocalyptic urban fantasy which urges society to "wake up" and somehow find a way to recover the long-lost and much-needed compassion for our fellow man, as this is the only way to save our world.

"Vazquez has risen to the challenge with a cast that astonishes, every one. Each scene in this particular production is piercingly focused and specific in intent. This is remarkable because the script is written at unusually high emotional pitch. Therefore, the trick is to not let the intensity and the language get smothered in themselves while playing the scenes to the full throttle velocity a successful staging of Marisol demands." - John Townsend, Lavender Magazine

The Palabras Project

co-directed with Jessica Huang, Park Square Theatre, St. Paul MN

Jessica and Ricardo have succeeded in their goal of creating an inclusive and global theater experience. They've also succeeded in creating what was one of the most diverse audiences I've ever seen at the theater. There were people of many different races, speaking different languages, there were kids, teenagers, young adults, middle aged people, and senior citizens." - Jill Shaffer, Cherry and Spoon

Elysium Blues

Rarig X Theatre, Minneapolis Fringe Festival MN

"This made my soul sing. Stunning vocalists with effortless emotion, careful treatment of the abyss of domestic violence, and representations of the dangerous beauty and unsung heroism of stories we tell our children. I loved him and feared him and I loved and feared the director for making that happen."  - Lisa Hu, MinnesotaPlaylist.com
